My friend, Art, just let me in on one of the most useful productivity tools and (for right now) it’s completely free.
The only snag is it’s not available outside of the United States and Canada.
It’s called Jott.com and here’s how it works.
Say you’re driving down the freeway and a great idea pops into your head. You want to capture it but how? Simple. Pick up your mobile phone and dial a toll-free number stored on your speed dial.
The service recognizes your phone number and asks you, “who do you want to jott?”
Answer “me” and you can now dictate your message up to 60 seconds in length. A few minutes later(depending on your message length), you’ll receive a transcription of your message in your email inbox. The transcription is done 100% through software and is highly accurate.
Now, that your message is conveniently in digital text, you can add it to your PDA or Outlook Tasks.
You can also use jott to email someone on the fly using your mobile phone and just by talking. All you have to do is dial Jott’s toll free number and select one of your contacts that you imported into Jott. Speak your email and it is transcribed the same way as a personal memo and then sent to your contact’s inbox.
